Neon Genesis Evangelion also known simply as Evangelion, or Eva, is an anime series created by the Gainax studio and directed by Hideaki Anno. The story of the play takes place in a futuristic world in which a paramilitary organization called NERV protects humanity from the attacks of beings of unknown origin and nature, the "Angels", using humanoid bio mecha called Evangelion (shortened to EVA). As the plot progresses, it gradually becomes more confusing and psychological, where the personalities of the characters become increasingly unstable and their development becomes fundamental. Hideaki Anno, the director and screenwriter, has expressed that the development of the series was inspired by his own experience, by virtue of which the characters show a wide range of their emotional affections and their personality.
The anime has twenty-six episodes that were broadcast for the first time between October 1995 and March 1996. Due to the fame obtained, various spin-offs were soon created, including manga series, movies and video games that complement or offer an alternate reality of the story. Although the anime constitutes the original work, the manga created by Yoshiyuki Sadamoto began to be published prior to the premiere of the animation to increase public interest. Sadamoto claims that the manga is his own interpretation of Evangelion, while the anime is Anno's interpretation.
This series has been classified in the genres science fiction, mecha and dystopia, containing various elements of philosophy, psychology and religion, with marked Abrahamic influences. In addition, its technical and thematic characteristics, as well as the complexity and symbolism of its history, have fact that this production is considered one of the best examples of the genre of epic realism. Pilot of the Evangelion 02 unit. Fourteen years old with American nationality, with a quarter of Japanese origin and a quarter of German origin, both by his mother. Despite his nationality, his primary language is German , since she grew up in Germany, the country of manufacture of unit 02. She is defined as an energetic, emotional girl with a temperament opposite to those of Shinji and Rei: in contrast to them, she is independent, competitive and rebellious. Her dream is to propel herself into adulthood in an attempt to escape from a dramatic childhood, which at times will make her seem like a strange and forcibly childish character. During the series, she maintains a complicated love / hate relationship with Shinji.
